For any iMac released between 2012 and 2019 with a SATA HD or Fusion Drive.
- This upgrade works on any iMac released between 2012 and 2019 and has either a SATA HD or a Fusion Drive. To check your iMac go to Apple Menu>About This Mac, The Overview Tab has the Mac Model name, eg iMac (21.5 inch Late 2013) and serial number. Then click the Storage Tab. If under the drive name it says Flash Storage/Solid State Drive, you already have the faster drive. If it says SATA drive or Fusion drive, this upgrade is for you.
- If you have found your computer working slowly and you’re more often waiting for things to happen, a SSD (solid state drive) is 10 times faster than the older style SATA Hard drives. These older drives are now too slow for the modern Mac OS and Internet access.
- If you are using specialist software such as Adobe, video editing, sound editing or running older software or Mac OS we need to check some things with you first.
- If you have an iMac released between late 2009 and 2011, we recommend an external SSD upgrade rather than an internal drive as this Mac can only be upgraded to Mac OS High Sierra, which may have only a couple of years of support from Apple.
- Some earlier MacBook Pro’s can also be upgraded.

- 1TB External SSD USB 3.2Gen2 drive including labour to erase/install an OS, migrate data from your InternalDrive/Time Machine Backup is a total of $433.00
